APC Criticizes Tambuwal's Opposition Leadership Amid Allegations

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded sharply to claims by former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, accusing him of being a significant obstacle within the opposition. In a statement released on Sunday, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka refuted Tambuwal’s allegations that President Bola Tinubu is attempting to destabilize opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.

Morka emphasized that the APC and President Tinubu are focused on governance and have no interest in interfering with what he described as “broken opposition parties.” He criticized Tambuwal and other opposition leaders for failing to provide evidence to support their claims, labeling them as engaged in political blackmail and obsessed with power.

Furthermore, Morka accused Tambuwal and other opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Nasir El-Rufai, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, of lacking effective leadership. He described their parties as rudderless and weakened by internal contradictions, suggesting that their actions are driven by personal ambitions rather than a genuine commitment to democratic principles.

This exchange highlights the ongoing tensions between the ruling APC and opposition parties as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections. The APC’s criticism of Tambuwal underscores the challenges facing opposition leaders in presenting a united front and effective leadership in the face of political rivalry.
