Lagos APC Responds to Tambuwal's Claims of Consensus Against Tinubu

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly rejected assertions by Senator Aminu Tambuwal that a national consensus is forming to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Tambuwal, a former governor of Sokoto State, had recently claimed that opposition leaders are united in a democratic effort to challenge Tinubu’s re-election bid, dismissing it as a northern agenda.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Seye Oladejo, the APC spokesman in Lagos, described Tambuwal’s remarks as “misleading and unfounded.” Oladejo emphasized that the prevailing sentiment across Nigeria is one of support for good governance and the continuation of the administration’s reforms. He asserted that Nigerians are focused on performance, not propaganda, and will not hesitate to reaffirm their trust in a leader who delivers results.

The APC spokesperson further highlighted that President Tinubu was freely elected in 2023 through a democratic process that reflected the will of Nigerians from all regions and backgrounds. He dismissed opposition claims of imposition, stating that the president’s administration has been actively addressing critical issues such as infrastructure development, economic reforms, and job creation.

Oladejo also advised Tambuwal to focus on addressing concerns related to his tenure as governor, noting that recent revelations have placed him under scrutiny by anti-graft agencies. He mocked the opposition’s efforts to build alliances ahead of the 2027 elections, describing them as fragile and unsustainable, driven by greed, ego, and desperation for power.

As the 2027 general elections approach, the APC remains confident in its position, emphasizing its commitment to delivering on its promises and serving the Nigerian people.
